  1. I used the site for the first time to sell a brand new boarding ladder that I had never installed. I got hits on the item almost immediately and ended up selling it to a boater in Arizona!! Site worked perfectly and was easy to navigate and obviously there is a need. I have so much stuff stored up from years of boating that I want to sell and this is the best place to do it – GREAT SITE!!

FYI – I’ve sold the cateye tube, the tacktick race master, and the velocitek!

I got $100 for the tube, $150 for the velocitek, and $450 for the race master.

Used Boat Equipment is working for me!

I posted my Garmin Marine Handheld GPS/Plotter. Within 2 days I had a buyer from California. He did the payment via Paypal. It was easy to post the product to the site and the fact that the buyer was from California indicates the site is getting “views”.

  5. We bought a Swage machine on this site after selling a mast and davits. We still came out ahead.

  6. Great site, we have sold more items – Radios, Chart Plotters, Autopilots then we had trying other medias. Very easy to upload photos, add content and edit listings. There are a large amount hits on my other listing, showing how popular this site is becoming.

  7. just In From Rob Emmet P2 Marine; I realized the power that usedboatequipment.com has to draw attention to the used boating products you have for sale, on Google search results. The individual listings move up quickly in the rankings over items that are on eBay, and Craigslist listings don’t even register with Google. Craigslist is really local.

  8. Just in From George Hollendursky;
I have had a very pleasant and worthwhile experience with usedboatequipment.com. I had listed an item early on and it sold. But with the boating season in full swing I did not list any more items. Then I saw Mike Hobson at the Annapolis Boat Show and got an e-mail encouraging one to clear out their old boating equipment.

Subsequently I listed 37 more items and have sold all but 12. I had some unusual items that I did not think would sell. One was a DataMarine mast head wind direction and speed sender. They are no longer made and parts are getting scare. The buyer wanted it for the parts. Another item was an Autohelm Autopilot of 1986 vintage. It would slowly wander off course but someone wanted it for the drive motor and wheel mount so that he would not have to buy a new autopilot. Then the buyer of the DataMarine unit noticed that I had an Autohelm for sale. He needed the head readout unit. After telling him that it was sold & it wandered, he was still interested in it. So I got him into contact with the buyer of the Autohelm and he bought the head unit from him. Amazing the usefulness of some things.

Another way I got more eyeballs on what I was selling is through several e-mail lists that I belong to. I would put a one line item description and price and another line with the URL to usedboatequipment.com. With little more work I could get more people looking at my for sale items and also the usedboatequipment.com web site. Someone that bought something from me also bought something from another seller on the site.

  9. Just sold another item! a Roll Gen spinnaker furler. What a great place to turn all my extra sailing equipment and gear I have accumulated over the years into cash and a great deal for someone else – total win win for everyone. The best part is that this site just focuses on boating equipment so it is much more focused.

    GREAT!!

  10. Just had a great selling experience with a depth sounder.

Will be checking usedboatequipment.com for now on before any purchases!

So easy, even I could sell my basement overstock and help a friend or two sell theirs.

Just sold my stepson’s Dickinson cabin heater (less than 1/2 price) after a short interval.

Thanks for a great site – so much easier to use than any other marketing technique.

This family will certainly look for its maritime selling and purchasing needs here.

  12. Good web site for purchasing used equipment. I bought the davits from Bob Blazer.

  13. TWO DAYS AND MY ITEM WAS SOLD!

  14. I needed a stern light. Sure enough, there’s one on the web site. It wasn’t just a stern light, it was a state of the art LEd stern light for just $30.00. Great Deal. Thanks!!!

Bill Lockwood, of Lockwood Boatworks had a client who needed a J105 trailer, he could not find one and a new trailer was going to take 8 weeks, not good for his client.

They searched online for a used trailer and found one on UsedBoatEquipment. The deal saved his customer some money, addressed an immediate need for a trailer and also made money for the seller, who had not used it for 5 years.
