Seller Instructions

How do you Place an ad?

 

Click ” Join Now ”   on the home page and create an account with e mail and passwrod. You can change password in your dashboard.

After joining you will be taken through a three step process.

First step, choose a category then in step 2, fill out the form with your address, description of item, category, price, condition. The 3rd step lets you approve the ad and then hit submit. Admin will approve the ad before it goes live. You will be notified by e mail when that happens.

Once you have an account you will have your own dashboard found in the upper right site of the site, next to welcome visitor. From here you can manage your ads and post additional ads by Clicking on “Post an Ad”.

Ad forms

The first step when posting an ad is selecting a relevant category. After choosing a category, the next step is to fill out the form.

When filling out your ad put in as much information as possible. Fill in product name, manufacturer and any information that will help search.  Imagine someone searching for your item, what would they use as a search term. The ad forms have specific fields related to the category to help you.

Tags; you can ad tags to each ad. Tags could be something specific for that item. It could be boat type, a name associated with that item. Tags also help with search.

How do you Edit an ad?

Once you have posted an ad its easy to make modifications. Go to My dashboard (accessed top right of each page). From the dashboard you will see all your ads. Here you can see  how many times each ad has been viewed, its status and be able to edit the ad. On the right hand side of each ad you will see “options” below is a yellow pencil icon. Click on the pencil and you can change any part of the ad and add new images.

Upload Image

Maximum file size is 500KB, UsedBoatEquipemnt will re-size the file for you. Images too large  may be a problem, so get it down to under 2,000KB, from here we will do the rest.

Improving chance of selling

  1. Add tags; Imagine what someone looking for your item, would type in a search box. Use these words as tags.
  2. Fill out as much information as possible, manufacturer, model number etc all help a buyer find your item.
  3. Upgrade to a featured ad.

If you have 1 ad or hundreds you can manage all via your dashboard.

How do you find certain equipment?  

To find an item on UsedBoatequipment.com you can search 3 ways. The home page is laid out with all the categories. Click on any category. If you are not on the home page you can use the category tab on the red menu bar. Lick this tab and see all the categories.

Third you can use the search bars. Type an item you are looking for in the “what are you looking for

How does a potential buyer contact the Seller?

 
Once you see an item of interest you can contact the seller with the contact form tab and information about the poster tab. Potential buyers can contact you by filling out the form and hitting send, you can communicate directly with buyers.
