Used this mast climbing system on my 30 ft Newport sailboat. Prime Climb is a rigid mast climbing system that feeds into a 3/4 inch wide mast track. Each step and connection rod is individually slid up the mast starting usually at boom level to whatever height is necessary. It can be used to recover, fix and repair a broken or frayed halyard, wind vane and various other jobs needed on a mast. The top step is a double step usually placed 5 feet below the top of the mast and makes for a stable working platform. Prime Climb can be used with or without a halyard. This Prime Climb includes a 31 1/2 X 33 inch nylon bag with 6 pockets. This bag is designed to drape over a sailboat boom for convenient access to parts. When not being used this bag can be rolled and closed with sewn in nylon straps. Also included are 22 X 17 inch machined aluminum connector rods, 21 single steps, a double top step, halyard slide and complete instructions. Standing area on steps is 4 1/2 X 1 inch. Thickest part of mast steps is 1 1/2 inches; standing pad is 1/2 inch. like new condition. Original cost $400. Price firm at $200.
I used this system 3 times for various jobs on my mast. You can use this with a bosons chair for safety or use it alone. I’ve retired from sailing, so it is for sale.
